Dr. Lam comes from a Chinese-Vietnamese family, but was born and grew up in France until the end of high school. She then moved to the United States where she pursued her undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science (MS) in Materials Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). After working as a research & development battery engineer for several years, she decided to change careers to become a dentist and has not looked back ever since.Dr. Lam obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the UCSF School of Dentistry where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) dental honor society. She then completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry at UCSF where she served as chief resident and received her specialty Certificate. She is now a part-time teaching faculty member at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
